Through several rounds of judging and selections, we try to identify the most talented dancer. From disco to Bhangra and hip-hop to Kathak to folk dances, various styles are seen in this contest. The participants display amazing commitment and involvement with knowledge in music, choreography, costumes, accessories, props and practice for solo as well as group dances.
GIIS Jhankaar is organised to give stage to students’ hidden dance talents. The event sets foots tapping and hearts fluttering with excitement at the opportunity. The search for the best dancer begins when talented dancers, some nervous and others confident of their dancing skills appeared on the stage for the prelims. Some of the best dancers from GIIS shimmied their way into the semi-finals of GIIS Jhankaar.
The participants display amazing commitment and involvement with their knowledge in music, choreography, costumes, accessories, props and practice for solo as well as group dances. The judges for the prelims are usually the GIIS dance teachers and this encourage the students to work wonders at their dance skills to reach the semi-finals.
The semi finals and mega finals are filled with beautiful costumes, amazing props, exquisite expressions and unbeatable spirit. The dancers come prepared to impress the judges and everything from their make-up and attire to the props they use seem to be sourced with deep consideration. The students, teachers and parents marvel as the dancers take to the stage one after the other, swinging folk dance steps, precision classical dance steps or avant-garde contemporary steps.
